New Year, New Opportunities

Welcome back everyone! Fall quarter officially starts on Thursday, which means new classes, new faces, and new opportunities! No matter where you are in your college path, there is always fresh opportunities available for you.

Fall quarter is the best time to get out of your comfort zone, put yourself out there, and get involved, with many events open to you for all different interests.

Whether you're a nervous freshman, a confident second or third year, an excited transfer student, or a senior ready for graduation, it is never too late to find your people or expand your circle.

My first week here as a transfer, I was nervous but excited to find my people and take advantage of all UCSD has to offer. When I met Aran and found out about UMPS, I knew it was perfect for me, and could offer me the help I was looking for. By the end of the summer, I had designed an entire website for UMPS, studied in Paris through UCSD's Study Abroad program, and finally felt comfort at UCSD.

I'm looking forward to this year with UMPS and all of its amazing opportunities and events it has to offer. UMPS is looking forward to expanding this year by welcoming new members and providing them with resources, experiences, and help.

Make sure to explore library walk and come meet UMPS and learn about us (you can find specific dates and times listed under events). Whether you choose to join UMPS or find your place elsewhere, I hope everyone had a great summer, a smooth move in, and have an amazing fall quarter!
